Something too many alcoholics don’t understand

Always buy enough alcohol to last you the day, with a little bit left over for tomorrow (hair of the dog). Buy more than you could drink in one day. This is the best way to prevent drunk driving. I hear far too often of alcoholics buying a small bottle, drinking it, then going back to the liquor store for more. Just buy a bigger bottle and you won’t have to leave the house again.

I’m an “alcoholic” and I don’t ever drive drunk, following this strategy is key to that.

Obviously no one should be drunk driving to begin with, but an alcoholic who’s drunk and out of alcohol tends to make very impulsive decisions. So just buy enough for an entire day and night, and you won’t need to go anywhere at all. If you do run out and want more, have it doordashed and try to hide the fact that you’re already wasted from the delivery driver. Be smart and be safe
