Drinking while you have a toothache?

Can’t take ibuprofen with alcohol, so I’m wondering if it would leave me up all night in pain or if it would be the kind of thing where I just pass out and I’m pretty unbothered as opposed if I were sober.

Now if we were in the year 1890 alcohol would be one of the first lines of defense for a toothache. However, it’s not 1890 and turns out we were wrong about a lot of things.

Has anyone experienced this scenario? I have a once a year event that I’ve been looking forward to.
