New to drinking

Hi all just seeking some tips and advice. I e started drinking with mates and they all like vodka (Vodka O specifically but whatever is cheap) however i don’t like the taste of it when i mix it with sprite after about 5-10 minutes i can taste the vodka more than the sprite how can i get to use the taste of vodka all together?
