Advice

Hello Reddit, I’m looking for advice that will help me to be a more intelligent, thoughtful drinker. I’m 29 and have already had 1 DUI. Thankfully nobody was killed and nothing horrible came of it. That was scary and a big wake-up call. I was sober for a year, then began to drink again. I drank hard and almost violated probation at one point. Since almost violating, I haven’t brought hard alcohol into my place cuz im afraid I’ll lose control. Even wine is risky to bring into my place. Now I mainly just drink beer/seltzers to give myself a chance. Also, I recently started carrying around a breathalyzer to measure BAC so I could know when I need to hold off on having another drink. Also, per doctors order, I drink water after every couple drinks. I only really drink once a week but it can easily turn into a binge. Things are going well for me in life, I am on new medication that is really helping me function in the world and am about to get license back. I’m just afraid of ruining my life and destroying any positive momentum I have going for me.

Thanks
