It’s Finally Time

I’ve run out of other ideas for how to manage my anxiety, and I’ll never turn to pharmaceuticals.
Alcohol and weed, while far from completely benign, especially the former, seem much better overall.

With weed I can’t keep huge amounts around or keep on it consistently, because I end up smoking like a chimney.

What are some tips for getting a consistent moderate amount of alcohol per day?

Some guidelines I’d want to go by:

1: No vodka
2: No coolers
3: No boxed wine (it just feels like going too far)
4: No macro beer (I can go get a growler fill locally)
5: No UK drinks (for reasons which are irrelevant to the thread)
6: No bottom tier spirits (just the heart cut)

My favourite drinks are beer, whisky, wine and gin. I don’t mid rum or tequila or brandy but prefer the better stuff. I like making cocktails and I have my own great martini recipe.

I’m on a low income so I’d like to avoid spending more than about $100-120 per month.

I think the strat I’ve come up with is buy a 1.75 L jug of gin per month and mainly rely on a martini every couple of days (my recipe makes 15 with the jug), supplemented with maybe another bottle of spirits and/or some bottles of cheap wine.

I’d like to get a selection of mixers but that costs a bunch to buy a good selection. Like $200-300. So it can’t be this month.

With those guidelines, what would you suggest for a strategy? Is my plan pretty good so far?
