This Cognac-based cocktail gets a kick from a pinch of Chinese five-spice powder.
2 parts D’Ussé XO Cognac¾ parts Fresh lemon juice¾ parts Simple syrup¼ Chinese five-spice powder4 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice.
Shake vigorously and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.
Garnish with star anise .
