Is the worst over? Taper
Hi to everyone struggling with this. It’s really been the battle of my life. 32 year old male. I’ve tried tapering now several times but feel like I finally might be on the other side of bad withdrawal.
I am tapering down from 8-10 tall boys daily of 7 percent beer for the last two years. That’s most days, once a month binges of 20 drinks or so.
I am tapering from about 10 right now. It’s been a quick taper (and a difficult one). The first three days were brutal. Anxiety like crazy, non stop stomach issues, nausea , hands shaking etc.
About 18 hours ago I had my last drink on day 4 of a taper I had just 3 tall boys. I finally got some sleep last night, and feel mostly ok today. No anxiety, still some diarrhea but truly feel like this is my window to finally stop. I have the will power and motivation to now. Other times I’ve gotten here and continued to taper but failed. Has anyone ever had this experience and tried to go cold turkey early in a taper, and then have the WD’s come back or worsen? Not asking for medical advice, just if anyone has had similar experience
Thanks in advance, and good luck to all those struggling out there
