Tolerance isn’t going down

Hey, apologies if this isn’t the right subreddit for a question like this

For context, I rarely drink (maybe once a month or less). I’m 23 years old, 5’10”, and weigh 170

I have an oddly high tolerance for my height and weight which never seems to go down. I’m actually writing this post because I’m on my fifth shot of Hendricks and I’m barely tipsy. (I feel it, but this is how i used to feel after a single beer as a teenager)

This is a massive inconvenience and obviously very expensive. I try to have a drink and relax with my fiancée every once in a while, and it always feels like a waste of alcohol. I also can’t really enjoy beers anymore (i mean there’s no point, I have to down 5-6 beers to really feel something) and Modelo was my favorite drink as a teenager.

What’s causing this? I used to be an opioid addict, could that have something to do with it?

Moreover, is there something I can actually do to alleviate this? I already drink infrequently, and I’ve gone months without drinking over the past few years. It seems to make no difference.

Thanks in advance
