Do people only drink with chasers because then they can drink more in less time?

So they drink with chasers so they can can drink more in less time and therefore get drunk faster and get more “value”(cheaper)from alcohol(the price is reduced,at least if you are buying alcohol and chasers from a store and not a bar)what i am trying to say is if you drink even a smaller amount but really quickly you will get drunk at the same level but at a lower price,chasers allow that.
