Strong hallucinations from alcohol

This happened about 2 years ago, but i still sometimes think about it. I drank for a week straight pretty heavily and when i stopped started to see and hear hallucinations (shadow people and faces in the walls and some random songs). I have heard about delirium tremens but i dont think a week binge can trigger it? My friends were also drinking with me for the week and they had no side effects. Anyone else have same experinces? Am i just super sensitive to alcohol withdrawals or what? Btw. The whole episode me seeing and hearing shit that wasnt real lasted about 12hours.
