What did I drink?

I once went to China for overseas study for a month while in college, and during my stay I experimented with the local alcohol. I’m not big on drinking in general, and only do so on special occasions. I just bought a light brownish red bottle of… something to try while relaxing in my room.

It was delicious! Light on the palette and tasty, and sweet. I love sweet things, and have since tried to find out exactly what it was that I had bought to I could try it again, but I have no idea what it could be. I tried looking up Asian alcohols, I thought that it might be some kind of fruit brandy, but I’m not knowledgeable enough to pinpoint anything.

Can anyone help with some insight?
