Would pouring a can of lager into a plastic bottle keep it fresh and still bubbly?

It seems like a really silly question, but in my mind it makes sense. Usually carbonated soft drinks in plastic bottles stay at least a little bit fizzy for at least half a day after being opened…so if I poured my lager can into a plastic bottle…would it do the same? Or perhaps a glass bottle with a screw on lid would be better somehow?

Please don’t make me feel stupid I’m genuinely just curious. If you know the answer to my question and how it all works, please explain why it would not work/why it would.
