Is this withdrawal or a bad hangover?

I’ve noticed lately I’ve been having trouble sleeping sober. A little shaky feeling, but not physically shaky unless doing small tasks with my hands like putting my contacts it. I keep sweating during the night which I’ve done before I was drinking but it wakes me up sometimes now. Chest feels funny but I can tell it’s anxiety, I used to deal with extreme anxiety a few years ago. And last night I was noticing as I was trying to sleep, sobering up so I could focus on class tomorrow, I was getting occasional like muscle-jerks? And really bad nightmares.

I’ve been getting these lately but ONLY when I’m trying to sleep. I don’t feel shaky or weak or anything while I’m at work, I work a very physical warehouse job at night.

I’ve been drinking for around 5 years, but for 4 of those it was very strictly weekends but binge drinking, usually around 7 to 12ish standard drinks in a night.

In the past year I’ve started doing most days and it used to be around 10-12 a night, but lately it’s been around 15, sometimes but rarely up to 20. So that’s not good, but I think I read it would take years of daily drinking to get withdrawals, so maybe I just have a bad hangover?

I take random breaks, like I took 3 days off a week ago and felt bad at first then normal after a day, I took a week off a month ago, and then random nights off here and there. Never felt too bad. But this is new and scaring me.

I’d also like to note I’ve never done anything like wake up and drink, unless it’s like a football game but that’s like once every couple months. It’s pretty much only at night.
