How is a person supposed to figure out what is actually dangerous consumption?

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask this question so I’m asking it in both the alcohol and the stop drinking reddit to see what both answers are.

recently I had a medical issue and it was initially misdiagnosed and when googling it I found that it could be caused or worsend by drinking too much.

then after the follow-up when they got the correct diagnosis and I did research I found that this disease could also be caused by drinking though for a different reason.

from here out of curiosity I looked at my pre existing conditions and they all said they were heavily dominated by drinking habits.

not long after this I had an unrelated health hiccup and further googling told me this issue could also be caused by drinking.

I do not drink that much. less than 6 drinks a week. but this entire experience made me really curious. how is someone supposed to figure out what is the safe drinking amounts at any given time for any given person?

every Google search I’ve ever done says anything more than 3 drinks a week is actively killing you. but here’s my confusion.

basically every human I know drinks more than 3 12oz drinks a week. so are most people just alcoholics as far as medicine is concerned?

from my perspective it was really hard to figure out what was actually an unsafe amount of alcohol to consume when most information I can find is so contradictory to human experience.

ultimately I guess my question is, if every disease or medical issue I google is caused by alcohol consumption but reality doesn’t reflect that, how do I safely consume alcohol with out being anxious I’m killing myself. because what Google says is extremely confusing on the topic. 3-5 drinks a week will not kill every human on earth. but Id still like to find some reliable info.
