Review: Flaviar Whiskey Advent Calendar 2026

Flaviar’s top shelf whiskey calendar is back again, offering 24 miniature bottles of whiskey designed to mark the dark days between the end of November and Christmas morning.

This year’s offering is another dazzler, a sizable box outfit with two Glencairn glasses, a tasting booklet, and 24 50ml vials of whiskey behind closed doors. Dubbed this year the “museum of Flaviar,” each door is covered by a tiny painting meant to evoke something about the whiskey behind it. As it did last year, the set comes with a membership to Flaviar Black, should you wish to purchase full bottles of what’s inside.

I received an advance box and tasted through it entirely, and can report that, again, the collection is mostly worthwhile. This year’s box is heavy on bourbon, featuring both standby delights (Four Roses Small Batch Select, Whisky Jypsi Tribute) and curiosities that are a little harder to come by (Breckenridge Rum Cask Finish — a favorite of the set, Frank August). Beyond America’s shores, further intrigue awaits in the form of Amrut Aadya and Bellevoye, a finished single malt from France, though, again, domestic brands dominate this year. A few duds are present, but they are fortunately few and far between. While the overall selection is rather tame, unless you’re a deep-dive whiskey connoisseur I expect there will be plenty in the mix that you (or your giftee) haven’t ever tried.

At $270, pricing remains the same as last year’s box, tariffs be damned, and it is still a solid value considering what you get. Each year this box sells out early, so if you’re shopping either for the perfect boozy gift — or just want to treat yourself — the best strategy is to hop on it soon.
