Review: Puffin Drinkwear
Ladies and gentlemen, beverage coozies have officially entered its vibe-check era, leaving standard neoprene in the space dust of their trajectory, thanks to Puffin Drinkware and their fashion line of alternatives. I doubt tailgaters or BBQ goers ever lamented any shortcomings of the OG perfectly utilitarian rubberized version, but Puffin Drinkware thought we deserved better. One should not waste any opportunity for whimsy and self-expression, especially when you are clinging to a cold beverage for as long as you do in plain sight. They saw the opportunity to fully clothe your beer can or wine bottle in a properly tailored flannel, hoodie or bathrobe and grabbed it by the (mini) shirt sleeves. I might add, with triumph and much glee.
The review started and pretty much ended with the unveiling of two styles in an impromptu focus-group-of-one that elicited the following feedback: “Bwahahah – these are awesome!” There really is not much more to add but allow me to enumerate some of the key reviewer-biased attributes of its awesomeness.
They are super cute.
With over 40 styles, there’s an outfit to suit practically anyone such as flannel shirts, hoodies, lifejackets, collaborations with Peanuts and Liquid Death, sleeping bag, ski jackets, and more.
The attention to detail is worthy. The hoodie has drawstrings and a kangaroo pouch. The bathrobe has a functioning snap, as does the flannel. The Hawaiian shirts have buttons. The pahka hood is trimmed with faux fur.
The insulation performs as it should. I dressed a chilled beer in flannel and a chilled white in the bathrobe and let them linger on the kitchen island throughout the day. After an hour they were both quite near original chilled temperature. And honestly, most beers and wines wouldn’t be sitting that long in a party setting. Within 3 hours they were a little less chill and fully at room temperature at hour 6. (But we would all lose our cool after 6 hours of being left alone, amirite?)
No such thing as having too many. (Did I mention collectibility?)
I can’t tell you what to do, but I am suggesting that a Puffin might brighten up anyone’s day for any occasion, and it’s an attractively priced functional conversation piece. Imagine walking over to refresh your glass of wine and reaching for that classy Sauv Blanc wrapped in a white bathrobe. You can almost hear the slippers shuffling along with it.
I could go on and on, but that would all just be another riff on “Bwahahah – these are awesome.” When you know, you know.
