How easy is it to develop addiction when a family member dealt with one?

I’m in my first year of college and just started drinking this year. I’ve only truly gotten drunk twice, and both times I was still very aware of myself and what I was doing. I was able to go to bed easily and wake up with only a minor headache and feeling slightly tired.

I like the buzz alcohol gives me, but I have no desire to be MORE drunk than what I’ve already experienced (like blacking out or anything). If I stick to only drinking on the weekends, and moderate the amount, is that healthy? How do I know if it’s too much? I feel like since it’s so new, I am tempted to drink whenever I’m offered, but I know better.

My dad dealt with addiction 7 or 8 years ago and it had a huge toll on me and my family. I would never want to be in that position or put anyone else in it. Do I have a heightened chance of addiction?
