diarrhea/gas a few hours after drinking alcohol

22F and this happens literally every time I drink alcohol. About 5–6 hours after drinking, I’ll suddenly get really gassy and then have diarrhea. It doesn’t seem to matter whether I’ve eaten before drinking or not. It usually doesn’t last long and once I use the bathroom, I feel completely fine again, but sometimes the gas and stomach cramps can be pretty painful and uncomfortable.
Does this happen to anyone else? Is this just a normal reaction to alcohol or does it sound like I might have some kind of intolerance?
