I’m tired of basically guessing every time I buy wine

I swear every time I’m standing in front of a wall of wine I suddenly realize I have no idea what I’m doing I know which wines I’ve liked before but I’m terrible at understanding what they had in common, so half the time I just recognize a grape or region and hope for the best I’ve started trying to actually pay attention to what I’m tasting instead of just deciding good or bad. Would be nice to eventually walk into a store and know what I’m looking for without relying on the label looking familiar
