Toasting etiquette?

Im a chef. Not too heavy of a drinker. But for the sake of kitchen and staff morale, I’ll sit around after my shift and toss some back with my coworkers while the tenders are closing the bar. Could it be seen as disrespectful to reply to a “cheers” with a “salut” or “Slainte”?

I ask because I seem to be the only guy that answers back with something different. It’s an American bar, but we’re drinking Jameson. Me, my head chef and the tender serving us are all of Irish descent. It just seems fitting, I guess?

I’m probably just overthinking it. But if I drink, it’s usually by myself.
