How many bottles of beer can a binge drinker go through in a couple of hours?

I’m writing a book in which a character is an alcoholic. So I’m wondering: if a person is an addict and a binge drinker, how many bottles of beer could they realistically go through in a couple of hours? I don’t want to write something that sounds ridiculously high or naively low, and I’ve never drank beer or hung out with beer drinkers, so I don’t have much context. Googling this just gives me a bunch of addiction recovery websites.
