Gastric Bypass vs. Alcohol
So… I had a gastric bypass in 2020 and afterwards I found that my alcohol tolerance had gone from 100% to 0%. After some time I figured out that I need to drink a high concentration of Alcohol to feel good, since it seemed like I burned through the alcohol almost faster than I can drink it. I usually need a steady pace with a 10-16% drink to not fall into what I can only describe as “low blood-sugar behavior”.
Lately, only one drink makes me feel terrible, and I don’t know why and what changed. This was seemingly made worse by using a different type of vodka for one weekend. After some experimenting, it seems like my tolerance or metabolism has risen to make it necessary to drink between 15-20% to not become an emotionally suppressed autistic girl with alcoholic parents.
Could Paracetamol be the culprit? I have long suffered from constant pain and recently started treating it through Paracetamol by a doctor’s ordinance.
