is it normal to feel really dizzy when drinking?

i’ve only started drinking recently. the only difference i notice between me sober and me drunk is that i get really dizzy. is this normal? is this just what it feels like to be drunk? because i still have my regular thoughts and values and impulses after a lot of alcohol, i just feel like the room is spinning. like i don’t feel more social or anything like what i’ve heard other people describe
