New To Alcohol & Confused

So I’m about a month into being 21 years old (legal age to drink where I live). I’ve tried basic beers, Fireball Whiskey, Buzzballs, red & white wine. Yet all of it tastes like I’m drinking hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol. Is this normal or am I just weird?

I’ve sipped something like 6 different types of alcohol & couldn’t finish anything but a blue lemonade Buzzball, which I had to add actual lemonade to in order to drink all of it. I usually got about 5 sips in before I just couldn’t with the taste & or the tingle in my mouth anymore.

Is there just a subset of the population that doesn’t like the taste of all forms of alcohol or something? Because everyone I’ve talked to about it in person said they didn’t mind the taste & often like it aside from like one type (beers/whiskies/ect). Meanwhile I’m awkwardly in the corner sipping on a ⅓ Buzzball ⅔ lemonade just so I can almost enjoy it. Question why anyone in their right mind drinks when it all seems to taste like varying degrees of hand sanitizer & paint thinner or something.

Is there something I’m missing, or do my taste buds & alcohol just not vibe like that? Maybe it’s because I’m drinking at home (well trying to)? I don’t know. But this seemed like the best place to post this and ask: Is it strange that I don’t like the taste of any form of alcohol thus far?
