Am I drinking too much? (Genuine)

Before I ever got drunk, I found it kind of difficult. I have had drinks occasionally after I turned 21, but I always found that they never really did much for me, I assumed I was always just drinking alcohol that was too weak or my metabolism was screwing me.

Within the last couple months, I finally got actually “drunk” for the first time. As in, I felt a little off balance, I felt goofy, my behavior was slightly different, but not drastically. Ever since then, I’ve been drinking at least one day of most weekends. Sometimes two days in a row, but limited entirely to the weekends.

My main concern is this: My choice of drink is 35% ABV moonshine. I’ve discovered I like higher percentages because then I don’t feel like I need to drink as much, but still, I’m drinking about (visually) 1/4th of a 750ml jar every time I want to get drunk. Within the last two days, I’ve drank almost an entire 750ml jar (there’s maybe 1/5th of the jar left). This is the most that I’ve drank in a span of two days. Google tells me that even just drinking one jar over the span of an entire week is considered heavy drinking. But based on what Google tells me, I basically shouldn’t even have more than a couple shots worth of alcohol a week because I’m a woman. But I need to drink what feels like a stupid amount to even get drunk.

Are these limits much more individual than I’m thinking? Am I fooling myself? Does it matter that I’m not drinking the rest of the week if I drink half or a whole jar of moonshine in one weekend? I’ve told myself Google is unreliable for this sort of thing but I feel like I’m lulling myself into a false sense of security. Please be honest. To be clear, I’m not seeking medical or wellbeing advice, just honesty about drinking amount and frequency and maybe some examples of what appropriate amounts of drinking look like.
