Trying alcohol for the first time

At the legal age of buying alcohol now (never had friends that drunk alcohol in high school). What type of alcohol, beer, spirit etc. whatever it may be, is the best introduction to alcohol? I was thinking of trying vodka because i heard it has no smell and so i wont stink of alcohol. Do they all really smell that bad? Also i will be drinking alone so i dont need something that’ll get me really social rather prefer really drunk instead. How many shots would i need too from the alcohol? Thanks. 🙏
