Review: Wines of Mezzacorona Venetssa, Spring 2026 Releases

No less than ten months after our last round, we return to Mezzacorona’s Ventessa line with an introduction as minimal as the wines themselves: low-calorie, low abv wines that are vegan, gluten-free, clocking in at 90 calories, and shockingly still affordable while everything else seems to be skyrocketing in price.

2025 Mezzacorona Ventessa Vigneti delle Dolomiti Pinot Grigio IGT Review

Aromas of pineapple and melon cut through at first, and with time in the glass, a light floral note cuts through. White peach and lemon zest arrive on the palate to keep things moving, while a bit of minerality keeps the whole affair from getting syrupy and turning into something reminiscent of leftover fruit-cup juice. However, sweetness is plainly in charge, and the wine mostly settles into that role with little resistance. It’s bright, rounded, and easy to enjoy, but serving it well-chilled is the correct move. B+ / $12

2025 Mezzacorona Ventessa Vigneti delle Dolomiti Pinot Grigio Rose IGT Review

This immediately cuts a highly tropical, citrus character with nectarine and orange taking center stage with strawberry providing the backdrop. Slightly herbal overtones near the finish keep things interesting, and the wine slowly finds its balance. This most certainly needs to be paired with food to balance the sweeter elements. Last year I remarked that this would be a team player in a proper Sangria. This remains the case this year. B / $12
