Review: High Camp Highball Shaker (2025)
High Camp returns with a new version of its cocktail shaker, a sturdy, insulated offering that now holds 1 liter of product instead of the 20 ounces available in the 2022 version of the shaker. The old product no longer seems to be on the market, so if you see “High Camp Cocktail Shaker” today, it’s probably this one.
Aside from size, the formula hasn’t changed, with a three-piece design that lets you screw the strainer in to the shaker or remove it altogether to make for a more compact traveling companion. Unlike other High Camp designs, this one isn’t magnetic. Rather, all the parts screw together — which can get a little stuck at times. Fortunately the shaker component has a textured surface that gives it some grip and makes it easier to screw on and off when needed.
The shaker still works great and keeps liquids very cold for the long haul; the half-open strainer keeps solids in the container effectively while giving you room to directly add liquids or even smaller pieces of additional ice without having to disassemble the unit.
New to the kit is a jigger that matches the color and style of the shaker. One side offers gradations in 1, 2, and 4 ounce totals, the other 0.75, 1.5, and 3 oz totals. I love having a jigger with a 4 ounce capacity — but if you need a half-ounce, you’ll have to eyeball it.
Available in 4 finishes.
