Why do some people say being the only one drinking is a bad thing?

I will start off by saying I went out with a few friends to a VIP theatre to see a movie for a couple of their birthdays. It decent movie it was the new Deadpool however I’m not a huge movie guy. Although in the VIP movie theatre there is a bar and it is nice to grab a few drinks. Nobody else in my friend group had a drink and all of us enjoyed ourselves, it’s just that I enjoy having a few. I don’t see why anyone should criticize my choices but there’s people out there that will. Has anyone else been in the same boat?
