LiquorLegacy? Is this a scam?

So I heard on one of the posts on this subreddit that there was a website called LiquorLegacy.com

There were a couple fellas that said they had successfully received some alcohol without having to sign anything, just left on their doorstep.

Something I don’t understand is the way in which you pay for the items, which seems to be really scammy. After making an order, using a fake name, they sent me a confirmation email with how to pay, it saying:

To pay for your order please follow the step-by-step instructions below: 1. Open a new tab in your browser and navigate to the following payment link: “paypal.me/deggons” 2. Enter the total amount of your order, including shipping, on the payment page. 3. Select the “Friends or Family” payment option to ensure a smooth transaction. 4. Please leave the payment notes section blank. 5. Confirm the payment details and proceed to make the payment. 6. Within 12 hours of receiving your payment, we will send you a payment confirmation email. 7. Once your payment is confirmed, we will start processing your order promptly. Please make the payment within 24 hours of placing your order. Orders not paid within this timeframe will be automatically canceled. If you have any questions or encounter any issues during the payment process, feel free to reach out to our customer support team.

My question is, how in the world would they know that you’re paying for YOUR order and not someone else’s if your PayPal email isn’t the same as the email you used to place the order, and you’re using a different name for discretion?

It just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but there have been a few people that have stated that they’ve successfully received the items they’ve paid for.

Any thoughts?
