Red face and rapid heartbeat after drinking 2 days in a row

Yesterday after a few drinks I suddenly got a red, swollen face and a rapid heartbeat and a generally unwell feeling.

I have had this happen a few times before and every time I got drunk the night before.

I drank a lot of water, and the feeling went completely away like an hour after that. What could be causing this? Is it dehydration? I only experienced this when I was drunk the night before so I think that has something to do with it
