Opinions on vodka tonic, for those that have tried

Curious to ask everyone’s opinion on vodka, my go to drink, which I try to have every day. I’ve had multiple suggest gin tonic is the right way to have tonic, due to botanical mixing, however, I find vodka has finely compliments tonic water, without undermining the taste. Thoughts?
