Heartburn if drinking and eating

Hi 25F here. For the past 2 years I get severe heartburn if I drink alcohol and eat food at the same time (even a light snack like peanuts).

I can’t have a drink with a meal, enjoy a bottomless brunch, or enjoy a takeout at the end of a night out!

The symptoms can be helped if I take gaviscon before I start drinking, and if I ensure to eat hours before hand.

It drives me mad. I was a big drinker in my uni days, but just can’t do it now. I get married in a couple of years and would like to enjoy a few drinks with my meal on the big day!!!

Any advice please?!
