My way of avoiding nausea and hangovers
A longtime friend reminded me of my old trick that I shared with her which she still uses. When I was young and would drink excessive amounts of liquor a few times a month, I’d eat a peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread an hour or two before I started drinking. I could drink 6-10 mixed drinks, even strong ones, and not throw up or feel bad when I woke up the next day. Not sure it matters, but I always ate natural peanut butter (only peanuts + salt) on Orowheat 100% whole wheat bread.
I have definitely experienced vomiting and hangovers from alcohol, but never after eating that magic sandwich before drinking. I’m a light drinker now, but my middle-aged friend still drinks heavily on occasion and it still works for her at 40+.
