How long does alcohol stay in the stomach?

Specifically in the stomach, before it gets passed into the small intestine. Because incase you drink too much and needed to dilute the alcohol with some food, at about what point will a majority of the alcohol have allready passed through the stomach? (This is based on how eating food may cause alcohol to be absorbed slower, creating a quicker and more intense drunkness)
