Gin is better than vodka and it’s not even close

Obviously it depends somewhat what specific gin or vodka you are talking about and what you pair it with. Gin, with its strong botanical flavor isn’t for everyone. One critic compared it to drinking pine needles.

I tend not to drink any spirit neat, so perhaps my opinion doesn’t matter, but gin pairs much better with things people often mix with vodka such as orange juice. The botanical notes blend perfectly with the sweet citrus. Gin similarly improves tonic water, a mixer I find unpalatable on its own.

To me, vodka is just antiseptic that won’t make you blind as fast. I can’t believe people actually like the taste of vodka, it’s purely for getting drunk.
