Anyone know anything about this stuff?

Brother and his wife gifted me this bottle they bought years back in Amsterdam (I live in canada) they can’t remember much about it other then they think it is supposed to be like a port. Information I can find varies from wine, whiskey and gin….. also price varies from 20 erous (maybe just for the empty bottle?) to 550 cad. Bottle is super cool and just looking for a little Intel so I know when the right time to open it is. If it isn’t expensive or rare they are moving there in a couple weeks and I can get more anytime, if it is then I want the right occasion to open it up! Thanks!
