Does Fernet Branca normally have sediment in it?

So I’ve had this bottle about a year, never left open (cap off), and have finally gotten to the bottom of it. But with roughly 2-3 oz. left, I noticed a large amount of particulate in it. Is this common? I can provide photos if necessary, but have never noticed it in other bottles I’ve purchased before.
