Is anybody here familiar with “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair and his past drinking habits?

Hello guys, I am making this post simply for the sole purpose of trying to understand how this was possible. So I would like your feedback about this odd man and his wild life

Basically, if you don’t already know, Ric Flair was a very famous professional wrestler. He had quite the lengthy career.. as he competed professionally from the young age of 23 until age 73.

The guy was also, according to himself and many of his acquaintances, a complete party animal. In one of his documentaries, Ric claims that for some time period of about 20 years, he drank 15-20 drinks EVERY single night.. for 20 YEARS..

This is later confirmed by some of his wrestling partners & friends, and they claim that Ric could drink the 15-20 drinks, stay up the entire night, and then wrestle in front of thousands the day after. That’s not even including the fact that he also worked out at the gym basically everyday. Doing heavy squats and utilizing the stair-stepper for cardio.

Here is my question… How did this man do this? How is he still alive today? How can somebody drink not 5, not 10, but 15-20 drinks EVERY single night and still function and perform athletic activities that take superb amounts of energy from the mind, soul and body? Honestly, when I heard this about Ric, it just made realize.. wow, I really don’t have a drinking problem. I drink on the weekends and yeah sometimes I go overboard and binge drink or sometimes I’ll extend that weekend to a 3-day weekend and just drink every night for 3 days straight. But I realize that this cannot be that damaging. If a guy like Ric Flair did this every night for such a long time, it just really makes you wonder, do some people simply process alcohol differently than others?

Another thing is, although Ric is heavier than me, I am the same height as him. I know it’s wrong to compare but again, I typically consume 5-7 drinks per drinking session to get drunk while this man was drinking upwards of 20 drinks and still functioning the next day. It’s just so bizarre.

So enough of that, please let me know what you think about this. Are we (current) drinkers just being too hard on ourselves if it doesn’t interfere with our lives? I mean the fact that this man did this and survived definitely goes to show that something is up either with his body and organs in some one-out-of-a-million way or maybe alcohol combined with intense athletic feats is actually not as damaging compared to drinking alone and never exercising.
