Is it normal to flush and feel sick after 1 drink?

Hey folks. I turned 21 back in April and never had a drink while I was underage so I’m still very new to alcohol. I’ve noticed that everytime I drink I turn bright red and feel like I’m overheating. I get a headache too. I thought this was normal, but my friends tell me it’s not. Is it an allergy maybe?
