Flying with alcohol?

Traveling this week by air and an wondering if I should just buy some liquor that comes in a plastic bottle rather than a glass bottle to help prevent the odds of it breaking during the fight. Would a plastic bottle break open on the plane or would i I be safer than glass bottle?
