Imbibe 75 Person to Watch: Christine Wiseman

Everybody needs a change of scenery at some point in their lives. For Christine Wiseman, that point came in 2021, when—after more than 20 years in hospitality, 10 of those in Los Angeles—she pulled up stakes and headed east for Miami. She wasn’t totally starting over, though—she shifted from Broken Shaker LA to the bar’s parent company, Bar Lab, where she is the beverage director.

The coast-to-coast move gave her the opportunity to play a role in opening a flurry of new Bar Lab properties in the Sunshine State and beyond. Since taking up her new position, Wiseman has been involved with opening venues ranging from Margot Natural Wine & Aperitivo Bar to Taqueria Hoja, and 2023 has her looking to projects in New York City. “Things were starting to move pretty quickly in Miami, opening a bunch of new projects,” Wiseman says. “The timing was just right, so I made the move and landed on the beach here on the other coast.”
