Gastritis when drinking

Hey there, need a little help from people that might have or experience the same. For the people wanting to skip the context etc just scroll to the end.

I havent drunk any considerable amount of alcohol since over 1.5 years. Maybe every few months or so I have a glass of wine, occasionally a beer, but generally no alcohol. I definetly like the taste of alcohol and the buzz, but my issue and thus the reason for this post is: Gastritis.

Here for the people that dont know what Gastritis is:

‘Gastritis is when the lining of your stomach becomes irritated (inflamed). It can cause pain, indigestion and feeling sick. ‘

So a little context, I used to drink maybe one or two weekends out of the month and while I did have quite ‘bad’ hangovers it wasnt to the point I didnt dare to drink anymore. I never abused any meds or ingested drugs. I smoked cigarettes on the weekends and sometimes with friends during the week. Have always had a slightly acidic stomach due to past with severe anxiety leading me to vomit often. 1.5 years a go I decided to get a few drinks with buddies like any other time. I drank a few beers and when I say a few I dont mean 20, I mean maybe 6 and one vodka martini. I used to be and am still quite a big guy, 90kg – 188cm and 20years old. That night I woke up feeling like complete trash, like something was growing inside my stomach, I had to puke all of the next day. My face got red dots all over it like an allergic reaction. I went to the doctor at that point, because I felt more than miserable. Nothing about it felt normal. The doctor then tested me for a bunch of things and just concluded I dont take histamines so well. I took some allergy medicine went to bed and felt better the next day. Then didnt touch alcohol for another few months, tried it again with less alcohol yet worse reaction. Went to the hospital after having one glass of martini and a beer because I couldnt stop vomiting after a few hours. The irritation on my face looking even worse than the first time. I had three follow up checks which one consisting of an allergy test. They concluded I have no allergies but likely get Gastritis aswell as a skin irritation from alcohol. Now since then I have not had more than a glass of wine or beer due to the crazy reaction I get from alcohol I wanted your guys opinion.

I was wondering if anyone experience something similar, and if they have a way to still enjoy a few drinks without getting severe gastritis?

Any advice is very appriciated 🙂 !
