Soar throat every time I drink

For the past few weeks (or so), I get a soar throat whenever I drink. Why is this?

I drink vodka w/ water and lemon and/or cranberry. I typically have a glass or two in the evening to wine down.

It is soar throughout the night and in the morning. Usually some tea w/ honey with sooth it.
