how do you measure ice for drinks?

When cooking or making drinks. I really like being as precise as I can. When a drink calls for say 2 cups of ice. How am I supposed to measure that? When Ice is not uniform in shape or size.

I was considering measuring the ice by weight.

I understand I’m potentially being too precise, but that’s who I am.
