Tequila rose – correct pronunciation?

So my friends and I used to order shots of tequila rose and pronounced it “tequila rosé” and one day noticed on the bottle there was no accent. We were hugely embarrassed (as only a Brit could be) and have called it tequila rose ever since.

We started to notice all our friends pronounced it tequila rosé and then would hear strangers call it that too. I then saw it referenced on tv and on social media and every time it was rosé. In fact I’ve never heard anyone call it tequila rose.

Does anyone else say rose? If not, why does everyone universally called it rosé when rose is a much more common word?! The emblem on the bottle is even of a rose….
