dumb question

so i drank brandy on friday with some friends. not too much, but i’m not a frequent drinker to be fair. ever since i’ve been having these rotten tasting burps and i’ve been purging everything i’ve eaten. is this the dark liquor messing with my digestion or simply just me and something i ate? they asked me to go out again tonight and besides the disgusting burp taste i’m fine, just need to know if i should stay away from brandy for now on?
