First big rave experience

If you’re seeing this right now, it’s currently 1AM after the rave has ended. This was quite the experience that I wanted to share for the laughs, entertainment, etc.

So, a buddy of mine hits me up the other day about an upcoming rave downtown. It was an EDM rave at a pretty big venue in Norfolk. I agreed to go because it looked like a good time. We bought tickets online, I drove downtown, and we ended up meeting up for the first time in over a year.

We decided to pregame at my buddy’s house with a few shots and and a “thug passion” if you don’t know what that is, it’s basically Alize (sometimes mixed). After that, we took an Uber to the concert venue. I was hungry and there was time to kill before the concert, so we decided to go to the local bar to chill for a bit. I decided to get some wings and fries, and my buddy ordered 3 shots of Hennessy (using the term shots lightly, as these were pretty much half filled cups of Henny). He drank two, and I drank the other while eating my wings. I never drank with this specific friend before, so I’m unaware how strong his tolerance is. He’s also a big guy so he’s told me he can typically handle a bit more liquor.

After the bar, I’m a little buzzed but still feeling alright, and I can tell me buddy is on his way to being pretty hammered. We walk to the Rave, and check in. He goes straight to the bar and orders 7 Yager shots. In my head I’m like fuck this isn’t gonna be good. I tried to stop him, but he continuously pushed me away and had a crowd swarm around him to cheer him on and record him. After I took a few and he finished the rest, we hit the dance floor for a bit to see what was up. After that, he rushes back to the bar and I couldn’t see where he went. He decided to go with 6 more yager shots. After I showed up, he told me he took 6 more. I knew I was gonna have to be by his side the rest of the night at this point.

Time passes, and my buddy is fucking hammered. Granted, I’ve been there before, but I was genuinely trying to enjoy the night without having to deal with it. He starts going up to everybody at the rave and complimenting their outfit, going up into random females faces and trying to kiss them, yelling at the bartenders. Typical stuff when you’re at that point of being that drunk.

I like to drink, so I completely understand my buddy was just having fun that night, but it went pretty overboard and was frusturating in some sense. I had to end up carrying him outside of the bar, where he projectile vomited in front of security, the police, and all the randoms going into the club, lmfao.

I ordered an Uber while trying to help my buddy off of his pile of throw up on the ground. If that isn’t the highlight of the night, some random hooker comes up to my buddy, trying to help him up and yelling at me that I’m a shitty person for not having an Uber there on the spot, and being there more for him.

We helped him up together, and she starts pulling him away saying “I’m gonna have sex with your friend”. By all means, if a homie is about to get laid, that’s what’s up. But in this situation, it was a bit different. She seemed off (besides the fact that she was a fucking hooker) and tried to take advantage of him. She was dragging him away while screaming at me that I’m a shitty friend even though I was by his side getting him out of getting arrested, into fights, etc.

She continually mentioned that she was going home with him and nobody was gonna stop her, then some random dudes came up and helped me get her off of him. She exclaimed “I’m recording you guys! I’m sending this video straight to my boyfriend to see!” As the cops were right there pulling her away as well. I took my buddy to the Uber, and he continues to throw up everywhere and pass out.

What a night. I’ve been there myself where I’ve blacked out, gotten sick, and done some questionable things while drunk, but this was a very unique experience of being the caretaker for the night. Just wanted to share my story of my first big rave with you guys, and how it went south.
