Drink recommendation please for a scene with an elderly gentleman relaxing at home.

Hi all, I have to film a scene of an elderly gentleman relaxing at home and watching 35mm slides of his childhood.

In the scene I’d like to shoot him getting himself a drink and then settling into the couch to watch the slides.

Problem is I don’t drink so I have no idea on what would be an appropriate drink for this scene.

If anyone can suggest something I would greatly appreciate it. With your suggestion can you also suggest a specific brand of drink and how it would be drunk? Does he drink it with ice, no ice, other drinks mixed in, straight, what type of glass is used?

I literally know nothing about alcohol so your suggestions are appreciated.
