Whiskey or Vodka hits first?

Whenever I drink straight liquor I tend to drink vodka cause it tends to hit me immediately and not lie about how drunk I am, but whiskey seems to lie to me about how drunk I am and wait like 30min-1hr to actually reveal to me how drunk I am. Is this a problem of me backlogging my liver or does whiskey just take longer to hit and taste better?
